A Flight Information Display System is a computer system used in airports to display flight information to passengers. The displays are located inside or around an airport terminal. A virtual version of a Flight Information Display System can also be found on most airport websites. Flight Information Display System are used to assist passengers during air travel and people who want to pick up passengers after the flight.

There are two Flight Information Displays: Departures and Arrivals.

Each line on a Departures Display indicates a different flight number accompanied by the airline name, the destination, the expected departure time, the check-in counter numbers, the gate number, and the status of the flight, such as:

Check-in or Counter open (oftenaccompanied by the check-in counter number)- регистрация на рейс началась;

Boarding - идет посадка;

Scheduled or On time– самолет вылетит по расписанию;
