My Favourite Kind of Sport

There are a lot of different kinds of sport around us. Millions of people are keen on hockey, volleyball, basketball, rugby, cycling and cricket. They are quite different, they are winter and summer, they are outdoor and indoor. But the kind of sport I have a special liking for is football. On the one hand it is both outdoor kind of sport, but one the other hand it is indoor kind of sport, but in so situation it is called a mini football. So people can be keen on football in summer on the fields, and in winter in gyms. In that way we can practice football in winter.

Football is extremely interesting and popular kind of sport. Millions of people are keen on it. Besides, plenty of matches are held every year. As far as I know, it has won a great popularity in our country and abroad, it is loved by both children and grown-ups, so it attracts great masses of passionate fans. Not by chance it is included into the program of Olympic Games.

I take a particular interest in football because it is very dynamic and emotional sight which is worth seeing, so 1 believe it is full of thrilling moments, and it impresses passionate fans by its high speed and poetry of motion. From my point of view it is of a great interest for everybody due to thrilling atmosphere and the impossibility to guess the results.

Football is a very difficult kind of sport, because it takes a lot of practice, a serious attitude to regular trainings, it takes a great physical strength and stamina, besides it takes physical fitness and quick reaction. We should repeat our movements, exercises plenty of times to make them perfect, improve our skills in playing football. We should practice a lot in order to achieve excellent results, to set a record, and to be the best player.

From my point of view, while training football we have a wonderful chance to be in a good health, to teach our organism to resist dangerous infection illnesses and to prevent serious infection diseases. It gives us a chance to relax after our daily routin.

10. At the Doctor's

If we caught cold, have a splitting headache, have a clogged nose, cough, are running high temperature, we must go to the policlinic. First we come to the registry. The registry clerk on a duty asks our name, address, age and occupation. He writes out some slips because several specialists will examine us. Some of them will listen to our heart and lungs, some will check up our kidneys, liver, stomach, eyesight, and hearing. The others will make our blood analysis, take our blood pressure and x-ray us.

If you have a cold, for example, a doctor may write you out a prescription for some medicines: pills, powder, drops, and mixture. He also advises you to take a scalding footbath, to put a hot water bottle to your feet, to have hot tea with raspberry jam. That keeps your fever down. You should also follow the prescribed treatment to avoid complications. You should always take care of yourself; go in for sports because sports make you strong, healthy and cheerful. Every day do morning exercises and have a cold rubdown to prevent yourself from catching cold. There is a good proverb: An apple a day keeps doctor away. That's why you should eat a lot of fruits and vegetables.

In сас-я of sudden HP.d severe illness or an accident calls are made to the first aid station. There the doctors are on duty all day long. There are many ambulances there. The ambulances are equipped with everything necessary to give the first aid. The patient is transported to hospital. There he is taken to the reception ward first. After questioning and examination the doctor fills in the patient's case history. Then a patient is given special clothes and is put to some ward for treatment.

When a patient is completely cured, he is discharged from the hospital. There are different departments in the hospital. They are: a surgical department, therapy, and the department of infectious diseases.
