The actuality of research: Informatization of education becomes one of the most important strategic resources of State for its successful development and positioning in the modern world. Modernization of the content of education in Kazakhstan at the present stage of development of society related to the innovation processes in the organization of foreign language teaching.
In recent years the question about the use of new technologies in schools is raised. And this is not the only new hardware, but also new forms and methods of teaching, a new approach to learning. The main aim of teaching foreign languages is the formation and development of the communicative culture of pupils, and learning the practical mastery of a foreign language.
The task of the modern teacher is to increase pupils’ cognitive activities in learning foreign languages. Modern pedagogical technologies, such as multimedia presentations, project works, and the use of new information technologies, electronic books and Internet resources can help to implement student-centered approach in learning process, also can provide individualized and differentiation learning by taking into account pupils’ abilities and their level of training.
The object of research:learning a foreign language with the help of modern information technologies.
The subject of research:peculiarities of the use of multimedia means in the development of understanding skills.
The purpose of research:the theoretical basis, development and experimental tasting of methods of teaching foreign languages by using multimedia learning means.
Research tasks:
- to identify effective methods of using modern information technologies in foreign language lessons;
- to demonstrate the effectiveness of multimedia programs and presentations in teaching foreign language;
- to identify the peculiarities of Internet resources during foreign language lessons for the formation of speaking and understanding skills.
Hypotheses of research: the methods of the use of multimedia means will be effective if they reveal the content, forms and methods of modern learning process, and will be considered didactic features of using multimedia means in learning process to improve the quality of education and the development of cognitive skills.
Methods of research: analysis of the information, scientific and methodological literature according to the subject of research, theoretical analysis and simulation, questionnaire, interview, observation of pupils’ speech, observation over the process of foreign language teaching, supervision over the use of multimedia means during foreign language lessons, teacher training and advanced experiments.
Scientific novelty of research:
-to identify the main tendencies of using Internet resources in the process of learning foreign language;
- detected the modern possibilities of information technologies in foreign language teaching;
- developed the modern methods of using multimedia means and also proved their effectiveness;
- identified the role of computer technologies in the formation of speaking and understanding skills.
Leading idea of research:the use of multimedia learning means and Internet resources in the high schools can provide a transition to a new paradigm of education, which is based on information and communication technologies and on interactive distance education.
The theoretical importance of research: identified effective ways of using multimedia means in the process of foreign language teaching, which based on the conclusion and hypotheses of the research work, as far as our research can provide additional information while developing the new methods of working with Internet resources in learning foreign language.
The practical importance of research:conclusion and recommendations from the research work can be used to improve methods of teaching foreign language in high schools. Also basing on conclusion of experiments and on results of research work, we came to the conclusion that modern forms of information technologies can be equally used in both traditional and non-traditional forms of learning.
