Eating Out
Eating out is very popular these days. There are very many cafes and restaurants that compete with each other in cooking, interior design and service. So it is a real attraction for all people. First of all, it is much easier to drop in somewhere and have a snack than to cook meal by yourself. Thus it is a lazy person’s choice. But I think people who do it for a change are many more than others. Sometimes we are bored with the same food and want to try something unusual from cuisines of other peoples. Various restaurants give a chance taste it. And finally, public café can be very convenient in business trip.
Some restaurants are open even for breakfast. Many restaurants open at about 11.30 a.m., others are open twenty-four hours a day. It is often necessary to make a reservation, otherwise the restaurant you chose may be filled up. When you are at table first you ask for a menu. A waiter will bring it to you and take your order in some minutes. There you will find the information about all courses. You can choose what you want from starters to main course and desserts. In good restaurants it takes time to get your order ready and while waiting you can listen to music or talk to your friend. Usually meal is served in a special attractive way. If you make a big order you can expect compliment dish from chef. You don’t need to hurry when you are in a restaurant and should enjoy your meal in a relaxing calm atmosphere.
If you want to ask for a bill signal the waiter with a raised hand. If that doesn't work, you can say: "Excuse me, may we have the check, please".
Nowadays it is becoming more and more popular to combine eating out and watching sport events on TV. Sport bars give you such chance. But you should be ready that people rather drink than eat in such places. But during big world events such as Olympic Games and World Cups many expensive restaurants invite visitors by installing special devices for watching sport games.
Anyway sometimes it’s worth having a romantic or special evening eating out in a place that doesn’t look like your kitchen.
