7. Форма множественного числа, а глагол – в единственном числе
Некоторые существительные, оканчивающиеся на 's' не имеют формы единственного числа, но глагол после них стоит в единственном числе.

Группы людей
Некоторые существительные, обозначающие группы людей, требуют после себя глагола в единственном числе, если мы имеем в виду группу людей как единое целое, и во множественном числе, если мы представляем группу как определенное количество людей.
