Note! To feel is never used with any reflexive pronouns. So the Russian sentence Он чувствовал себя несчастным/смущённым, etc. should be translated into English as: He felt miserable/embarrassed, etc. To feel in such sentences is not used with the adverbs, but with the adjectives.
