He wasn’t painting, he was sleeping. Действие, завершившееся к опред. моменту в прошлом   had + Past Participle He had painted the picture before I came. Он нарисовал картину до того, как я пришел. Had he painted the picture before you came? He hadn’t painted the picture by the appointed time. Действие началось до определенного момента в прошлом и длилось вплоть до этого момента. had been + V + ing He hadbeen paintingthis picture for 2 hours when I came. Он рисовал картину уже 2 часа, когда я пришел. Had he been painting this picture? He hadn’tbeen painting.
Future Tenses Простые действия, факты в будущем. will + V He will paint a picture. Will he paint a picture? He won’t paint a picture. He will be a doctor. Will he be a doctor? He won’t be a doctor. Длительное действие в будущем. will + be + V + ing He willbe painting his picture at 2 tomorrow. Will he be painting …? He won’tbe painting Завершенное действие в будущем. will have + Past Participle (III-я форма гл.) He willhave painted his picture by July. Он нарисует картину к июлю. Действие начнется до определенного момента в будущем и будет длиться вплоть до этого момента. will have been + V + ing By that time he willhavebeen painting his picture for 10 years.
